Celebrate Fresh Fruits and Vegetables Month; Add Fruit and Vegetable Nutrition to Your Diet

June is Fresh Fruits and Vegetables month, one of our favorite months of the year. Since the beginning, Juice Plus+ has always encouraged the consumption of fresh fruits and vegetables. In fact, our entire product is based on the premise that fruit and vegetable nutrition is important to good health.  As such, we thought this was an opportune time to highlight some of the health benefits of adding fresh produce to your diet, just in case you need a reminder.

  • According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), incorporating more fruits and vegetables in your diet may reduce the risk of cancer and other chronic diseases. In fact, research has shown that fruits and vegetables reduce the risk of heart disease and stroke, and improve vision and digestion.
  • Diets rich in fruits and vegetables help maintain a healthy weight since fruits and vegetables are naturally low in fat and calories, and ease blood sugar levels, which helps keep appetite in check.
  • Fruits and vegetables provide an abundance of vitamins, minerals, fiber, and antioxidants, which are essential to good health.

As science uncovers more about the importance of fruits and vegetables in a healthy diet, public health organizations and nutritionists tell us to eat more of them.  Many of us have difficulty consuming enough fresh fruits and vegetables every day to get the nutrients we need. That’s where Juice Plus+ comes in.

Juice Plus+ is not a substitute for fresh fruits and vegetables. Rather, Juice Plus+ helps “bridge the gap” when you can’t reach your full servings of fruits and vegetables every day. So make sure you’re adding as many fresh fruits and veggies to your diet as possible and when you can’t get enough, grab Juice Plus+ to help fill the nutritional gap.
